1. MATHEMATICS REVISION
1.1 Whole Numbers
Whole numbers are numbers without fractions or decimals. They include numbers such as 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and so on.
Mathematics requires pupils to understand how to perform basic operations involving whole numbers.
Basic Mathematical Operations
Addition
Addition means combining two or more numbers to get the total value.
Example:
245 + 356 = 601
Subtraction
Subtraction means removing one number from another.
Example:
850 - 325 = 525
Multiplication
Multiplication is repeated addition.
Example:
25 × 4 = 100
Division
Division means sharing a number into equal parts.
Example:
100 ÷ 5 = 20

Place value shows the position and value of a digit in a number.

1.3 Fractions
